On Friday, January 31st, the project „Mobia – Mobil bis ins Alter“ received a price in the federal competition “Ausgezeichnete Orte im Land der Ideen” (awarded places in the country of ideas) 2013/14. In this competition projects dealing with the challenges many cities have to face in our modern times are rewarded by the “Deutsche Bank” and the initiative “Germany – The country of ideas” (http://www.land-der-ideen.de). “Mobia” provides solutions especially on social issues, such as the attempt to a larger compatibility of mobility and ageing. Navigating and accompanying senior citizens or people with restricted mobility through public traffic and though through their daily life, “Mobia” decisively contributes to an accessible local public transport without barriers in the Saarland. The project is directed by the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) from Saarbrücken, the software enterprise B2M from Karlsruhe, the institute for social research and economy (ISO) and the center for education and career (ZBB) from Saarbrücken,  as well as the Saarbahn GmbH.
