The intelligent android App „Kochbot“ finds recipes, reads them out loud and supervises the cooking process. See it at the “CeBIT” in Hanover from March 10th to 14th, 2014, see http://www.dfki.de/web/aktuelles/cebit2014.

Kochbot has been connected to the intelligent kitchen: During the cooking process, induction stove, extraction hood and the faucet are controlled via the Universal remote console technology (OpenURC). This is a useful application especially for people, who need support during cooking process and who have problems interacting with their kitchen because they are, for instance, visually impaired or have other mobility issues. The Kochbot developers, being computational linguists, will cook an alphabet soup with sweet peppers for demonstration purposes during the CeBIT.

Among others, the project is supported by the BSH Group, Maggi GmbH, Grohe Group, consistec GmbH, OpenURC Alliance and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI)
